Berkeley homes sought permission for 2000 new homes to form the Warfield urban extension to Bracknell. Through contributions by BiBO’s urban designer we developed a scheme that was well supported by the Berkshire Design Panel - ultimately gaining consent.

Our work focused on developing place character narratives drawing upon local vernacular settlement patterns and architectural features. The aim was to create a more navigable and identifiable lived experience working within the parameters of volume housebuilding. We were pleased to prepare detail and experiential design guidance to supplement the planning application to support a swift and non-contentious approval for the strategic site.

When you’re involved in a scheme during the early stages, its hard to track progress on whether the good things you include in the masterplan actually work… we’re delighted to see this article nearly 10 years later….
